Salmonella in Texas
A nationwide Salmonella outbreak has sickened at least six people in Texas. Across the country, this food-borne illness has been responsible for six deaths. Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
The disease-causing organism has been found in peanut butter used to make snacks and cookies. Kellogg products has announced a recall on certain Austin® and Keebler® branded Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers and select snack-size packs of Famous Amos® Peanut Butter Cookies and Keebler® Soft Batch Homestyle Peanut Butter Cookies.
If you have any of the following products produced on or after July 1, 2008, throw them away.

AMIGO (American Members of International Goodwill to Others) is a Department of Defense Program designed to help the International Military students meet Americans. AMIGO is a "two-way' learning and sharing experience for Americans and Internationals.
The program, run by the Defense Language Institute English Language Center on Lackland AFB, is designed to have International Students visit in an American home and have experiences typical to that of U.S. citizen.
