CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT ALBERT M. SALINAS

CMSgt Albert M. Salinas serves as the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 149th Fighter Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Chief Salinas provides enlisted leadership across the wing to include three geographically separated units located across Texas. The 149 FW has more than 1,000 personnel and 24 primary aircraft authorizations assigned. The 149 FW is responsible for providing fully trained F-16 pilots, battlefield airmen, and cyberspace professionals to warfighting commands. 

CMSgt Salinas entered the Air Force in December of 1990 completing airlift aircraft maintenance technical training at Sheppard AFB, specializing on the C-130 airframe. In January 2001, Chief Salinas transitioned to the Air National Guard and joined the 149th Fighter Wing. He has since undertaken diverse assignments, culminating in a transition to the cyberspace career field. Chief Salinas has deployed in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, RESTORE HOPE, JOINT ENDEAVOR, and JOINT FORGE and participated in humanitarian relief efforts for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. 

Prior to his current position, Chief Salinas served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 149th Operations Group. Chief Salinas and his wife, Melinda, have been married for 33 years, and have three children.
