History:
The 149th FW has been flying fighter aircraft since 1947. 
The 149th FW has been flying F-16s since 1985
Served as 396th Fighter Squadron in WWII
Federally recognized as an Air National Guard unit in Oct 1947
182nd FS mobilized for Korea:
First to air refuel in combat 
First ANG unit to shoot down a MIG

    The 149 FW is extremely proud of its heritage, which includes 70 years of flying fighter aircraft, mobilizing for numerous worldwide deployments, and providing continuous service to the community and the state of Texas. The unit is proud to call San Antonio home.
