BENEFITS

     Think of it...while you're going to school, you only work a minimum of one weekend a month and two-weeks a year. You can also earn college credit while obtaining military and career training, which will make you more marketable after you graduate. As a member of the Texas Air National Guard, you can qualify for enlisted programs in the Air Force that will give you the opportunity for a great career. You can get immediate hands-on experience in a job where you can really make a difference. Along with all of those benefits, the biggest one is that you can earn up to $20,000 towards college tuition without having to move away from your friends and family.      PAY - Our already excellent pay is greatly enhanced by promotions and
raises throughout your Air Guard career. View the current pay scale

     MONTGOMERY GI BILL - In addition to your regular Air Guard pay,
you may receive up to $317 each month if you are a full time college student. www.gibill.va.gov

     GI BILL "KICKER" - In addition to the Montgomery GI BILL you may qualify for the an extra $350.00 per month. Ask your recruiter!

     ENLISTMENT BONUS - We are currently offering a cash bonus of $20,000.00 for non-prior service applicants if you enlist into a designated critical career field.

     STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENT - If you qualify, we'll pay up to $20,000.00 of your outstanding student loan.

     TEXAS TUITION REIMBURSEMENT - All guardsmen qualify for 100 % state tuition reimbursement at most public and private higher education facilities within Texas. Click here to view if your school is on the list. 

BASE PRIVELAGES
     As an Air National Guard member you will be entitled to certain privileges at all Active Duty Air Force Bases. For example, base exchange privileges and commissary privileges. 

TRAVEL
     Space Available flights are available to Guard members within the Continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. 

LIFE INSURANCE
     The Servicemen's Group Life Insurance is available for Guard members for up to $400,000 worth of coverage. This covers you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

RETIREMENT
     Members qualify for retirement after completing 20 good years of military service. Retirement pay begins at age 60. 

UNIFORMS
      Complete military wardrobe including shoes, boots, jacket, all weather coat, hats, and caps. Everything is replaced free upon return with normal wear and tear.

EXPERIENCE
     After you complete Technical Training school your training will continue through upgrade training and in-service training. This will ensure that you have the most advanced training in your career field. You will also be given the opportunity to apply that training in a working environment. Giving you the hands on experience you will need to be a success in the Texas Air National Guard and in the civilian community. You will also be given management training. That's right! The Texas Air National Guard will also provide you with management training through the Professional Military Education Program. This training will help you to assume future management positions in the Guard as well as in the civilian community.
